A former General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church Nationwide , Prophet Samuel Abiara , has asked Nigerians to shun prophecies of doom in 2018 .
He urged people to work hard and pray to God for a better tomorrow for themselves and the country .
The cleric spoke in a New Year message he delivered at the CAC , Agbala Itura , Agege , Lagos , a statement said on Thursday .
Abiara , while commending the efforts of leaders at the state and federal levels , asked them to prioritise areas that would improve the welfare of Nigerians.
He warned politicians to guard their utterances as the election year drew near .
The cleric urged Nigerians to pray more for governments and criticise less, saying prayers would achieve more results.
