No fewer than four people, including a cyclist, were killed Tuesday on Ijebu-Igbo township road, Ogun State.
The accident involved a Nissan Primera car and a commercial motorcycle rider.
The car coming from Oruu town and heading to Ijebu-Igbo lost control following a malfunctioned break and rammed into the cyclist carrying a passenger.
Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident to reporters, said two persons died on the side of the cyclist while two others died in the car.
Akinbiyi said three of the victims died while being taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (Sagamu).
The other victim died at State Hospital, Ijebu-Igbo.
The PRO explained that the dead comprised two males and two females.
He said: “Two occupants on the okada died; two in the Nissan vehicle died out of the six occupants.
“The Nissan is private but used for commercial purposes.”
