The Lagos state police command has released a statement warning citizens planning to protest the recent increase in tollgate fees Lekki, Lagos.

Some of the users of several toll gates in Lagos Island have expressed their displeasure over the recent increase of the toll gate fees and they are planning an occupy lekki peaceful protest match today which they hope will make the Lagos state government and the Lekki Concession company reduce the tool gate fees.

According to them, they recognize the rights of citizens to carry out peaceful protests but warn that they will not stand by to watch protesters take laws into their hands

In a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer SP chike oti he said The Command would not hesitate to use reasonable force to prevent any group of persons from blocking the road or breaching the public peace.
