EPISODE 31
She walked back to his office, not sure of what she was doing.
He looked up as the door opened, excitement running through his skin.
"Sir?"
"Micheal please. Come here."
She bolted the door and walked to him, not able to stand his gaze.
"I got your message Sir but......"
"Isn't it enough? I mean, I know I wronged by not keeping you in the light this few days. Trust me, you've always been in my thought. Don't leave me now. I need you more than anything else now."
She looked at his face which was filled with emotions. She felt pity for him but she just had to let go. She had to take a walk.
"But sir, you've got your wife. I'm only but a second option to you sir."
"Don't say that. My wife is seeing another man. The nurses at the hospital couldn't recognise me as her husband. They called him for everything, they called him her husband. Sarah, I'm thinking of a divorce. I'll divorce her and marry you straight away. You're the woman I want. Please don't leave me now." He pleaded, standing up.
She was surprised. Two proposals, from two rich men who are very handsome too. Her friends would die of envy. But she prefered Kelvin. He was richer and doesn't have a wife he's yet to divorce.
She smiled, who says she's walking away. She will milk this one dry for now and then settle down with her knight in shining armour.
Thought of this got her kitty tingling with excitement. She walked closer to him in sultry steps
"So, you missed me too huh?" She asked
"Of course baby. I missed you a whole lot."
"And you'll do anything to make me happy huh?"
"Of course dear. Anything. So long as you don't leave me."
She quickly dropped to her knees and was soon doing the only thing she was very good at.
He cursed himself as he took the steps in twos. He was back to Micheal's house. He needed to think straight. The lady was a big $lut and he knew he had to make proper plans. He was about to take the last turn to his room when he ran into Amara. She was still dressed in her gown and her face showed she was troubled.
He meant to walk past her but she held his hand.
"What? I don't wanna talk."
"Why are you avoiding me Kelvin? What crime did I commit that you'll be ignoring me. I've been calling and texting you but you've not returned any."
"Because I don't want to talk Amara." He said with clenched teeth.
"How long have they been together?" She threw at him
"Who?"
"My sister and that Phil guy. How long?"
He scoffed, folding his hands on his chest.
"Every woman isn't like you Amara. There are still women who have their heads intact. I understand that there are a few who've lost it, but you see, Claire is a gem. She's one in a million and........."
"You'll be disappointed if I tell you that they're lovers. Have you seen the way he looks at her, the way he touches her, then today of all days, the nurses called her his wife. There's something you're not telling me."
"If I were you, I'll be thinking of ways to take care of my sister. How many times have you been to that hospital? How many times has her so called husband, my best friend gone there to see her? If Phil and Claire are having an affair, I'll support them with everything in me. If you don't mind, I'll love to be excused now. I've got important things to take care of."
He brushed past her and opened the door to his room. She followed behind, locking the door.
"Amara, get out."
She wasn't surprised but she was not ready to give up easily.
"Why? Are you tired of me already? But I'm not. I want you, here, right now."
"Now I know that you're sick. But let me make this thing clear, I've got no business with you anymore. I can't believe I liked you to the extent of telling myself that I've found a wife. Jeez. Get out right now."
Amara was baffled. He had wanted to marry her? She bit her lips and looked up to his face.
"And I love you as well. You see.........."
"Too late. I've got a girlfriend now so please, use the door."
Her knees got weak and she struggled for support. This was all Claire's fault. If only she had not been a goody two shoes to earn Kelvin's respect that he'll even call her name while having sex with another woman. If only she hadn't been a goody miss. She got her feet steady and walked out of the room. Now, kelvin already got himself someone else. She's lost out totally.
No, it's not possible. If she doesn't have Kelvin, Micheal is still in the picture. Claire would be out as soon as possible and she'll have Micheal to herself, but that will be after she must have had a taste of the handsome barrister.
She pulled away from him. What has she done? Unshed tears threatened to escape her eyes but she fought it. She has committed same crime her husband is guilty for. In as much as she felt something for this man, she can't be with him because she was still married to Micheal.
He watched her battle with her thoughts.. He shouldn't have kissed her. He had no right to touch her because she was still in love with her husband and only emotionally frustrated. He felt like slapping himself for making her go against her will.
"I'm sorry Claire. I shouldn't have done that. I don't know what came over me. I'm sorry. I know, I'm crazy, I'm sick in the head but I'm also madly in love with you. It's driving me insane and I don't know what I'm going to do about it. I'm sorry."
"Take me home Phil. Just take me home." She said, opening the gates of tears
"Claire?"
"It's not your fault alone. I should have resisted right? I can still work on my marriage and the plan is in my head. Believe me Phil, it's not your fault because I also feel something for you but it's all wrong."
The traffic chose that very time to move and he nodded in appreciation. He's back to square one.
Alone and hurt.
*EPISODE 32*
"So what will you be doing tonight?" Micheal asked.
They were both n@ked, basking in the aftermath Bliss of office sex. She was sitter on his laps while his deflated prick hung in the little space it found.
"Uhm. My aunt is around and will be leaving next week. She's a Christian and condemns premarital affairs."
"Hmmmm. Wanted to come and spend tonight in your arms baby."
She lifted his jaw and pecked his lips.
"You've got me from next week baby. And here in the office, I'm yours for keeps."
He smiled in satisfaction and they shared a kiss, only to be interrupted by an incoming notification.
"Bae, I've got a meeting in thirty minutes."
"Ouch. I almost forgot. We should get dressed then."
They stood up and began to dress up. She finished before him and made to walk out.
"Bae, thanks for giving me another chance." Micheal said.
"Its nothing. I love you so so."
They kissed and she walked out of the office, picked her handbag and headed to the restroom for a makeover not minding stares from the other two secretaries.
When he was sure the road was now free, he parked to a side of the road, not looking at her.
She was surprised that he stopped. She didn't want to talk about anything. She just wants to go home and make things better.
"Phil why did you stop?"
"I want to talk to you. I want us to talk."
"But I don't wanna talk Phil. We both are wrong and talking about it will lead us to argue and I don't want that."
Without replying, he fished the paper from his breast pocket and gave it to her. She unfolded it and read the words out.
"I'll give you more than you're getting. 08143**"
That number belonged to Amara. What was going on with her sister? What changed her. Her eyes got Misty and she knew she had to cry it out.
"Like you said, you've got your family to take care of and God forbid that I stop you from doing that. I want you to be happy Claire. I'm willing to do anything to make you happy that's why I'm going to let you go. I'm going to let you slip out of my arms because your happiness is my priority Claire." He sniffed and Claire turned to see him quickly wipe a tear
"I loved you the very first day I saw you. I didn't know you were married because there was no ring on your finger. I ignored it, even tried to forget you but nature brought us back together. Our paths crossed again and I decided to nurture this love. If you leave me Claire, I won't die, I won't let my love die too but I'll be a changed man. I won't believe in a lot of things Claire. I'll loose faith." He sniffed and looked away, letting his tears fall. He had failed.
She wanted to talk. She wanted to say something but words failed her. She looked at the piece of paper in her hand and bitterness consumed her. She reached out to touch him but he instead, started the ignition and drove off.
To him, this was the end of the road.
He quickly grafted a message. He won't be coming to pick her up because he has dinner with some clients. He would come in late.
Immediately the text said delivered, his phone rang. The bleached face was calling.
"Hi honey. I just got your text." She said into the speaker.
"Yes dear. My secretary arranged dinner with some clients from this side. It's really important to me please."
"I understand dear. So, what should I do?"
"You've got the card right?"
"Yes. I'm with mine."
"Good. I'll come to you once I'm done."
"Uhm. Like, what time?"
B|tch! He cursed. So she would go and have flings and get back before that time. You're in for a lonely night fool. He wanted to say but;
"I don't know baby but I'll try to round up on time."
"Alright baby. You take care alright?" She said sweetly.
"One more thing huh, be sexy for your boo okay?"
She giggled, replied in the affirmative and they ended the call.
He wanted to laugh at her stupidity, but he didn't want to laugh yet. He would laugh when Claire is happy.
He brought the car to a halt in front of the gate. The second and last time he'd be there.
"Phil I'm sorry. I......"
He took her hands in his, facing her with a smile.
She knew that smile. A smile of defeat. She had used it before, even using it now so she knew he was pretending.
"We met for this reason. You would have been dead if our paths had not crossed. God put me in your life so we can only meet for this reason. Jeez, I don't even know what I'm saying." He laughed.
Claire won't buy that. She knew better.
"Philip please stop the pretence. Stop it."
"What should I do? Cry? Ask you not to leave? Beg for your love? For God's sake Claire you're married. I'm to be blamed for thinking we can ever get something together. You want your family back so here it is. You're here now but know one thing. I'm here. I'll be here if you need me but the last thing I'll do is to stop you from deciding what you want. You don't know my house, you don't know my office. You turned down my invites but I never suspected that you did it because you don't want me."
He took a jotter and pen from his pigeon hole, wrote down two addresses and gave it to her
"I'll wait for you Claire and even if you finally get what you want, I'll still want you to visit and show me how happy you are so I can fu©king move on with my life."
He stepped out of the car and moved to the trunk where he got her things down.
When he saw that she was out of the car, he got in and drove off without looking back.
She heaved a sigh and cleaned her tears when he was out of view.
He meant the world to her and she only hoped that her sacrifice would be worth it.
She carefully put the address and Amara's bitchy note in her purse before gently knocking at the gate.
*EPISODE 33*
She quietly walked to her room with the help of the gateman who carried her bags. The house was silent and she preferred it that way. They got to her room and he put down the bag.
"Sorry madam o. I go tell them to bring you food."
"No. Don't bother. I don't want anybody to know I'm back. Did you get my point?"
"If na how you want madam. Make I go back to my post."
She gave him a nod and he left. She locked the room and fell on the bed. She heaved a sigh and closed her eyes. It was good to be home but what was in for her in this house? She prayed it would be successful. She really needs her home back.
He dialled his number but it was switched off. He needed to know how Claire was fairing. He would have gone to the hospital but he had the intention of speaking with Micheal. He had to talk to his best friend one more time so as to be convinced he knew what he was doing and not under some spell. He quickly grafted a message and sent it to Phil. He would be in the hospital first thing tomorrow morning.
She sat up. Phil had not called her yet. Isn't she attractive enough? Isn't she his type of woman? She knew she had Micheal at her beck and call but she wants to have a taste of Phil. She wants to see and experience what her sister found in this barrister. Well, if the mountain doesn't go to Mohammed, Mohammed would gladly go to the mountain. She turned on her laptop. It was time to google this guy up. She needs an appointment with this cute barrister.
He kissed her one more time before she left. He was spotting a huge b•ner and he needed a release. Why would her aunt choose this time to visit? He would go home to Amara, yes, Amara. She was as perfect as Sarah. She would give him maximum satisfaction tonight.
He smiled and picked his suitcase. Life is sweet if you know the scopes.
"Don't you think it's good if you leave town for a while?" Enatel, Phil's best friend asked
"What if she comes here? What if she changes her mind? I'm not going anywhere Enatel. I'll wait for her."
"Dude, what if she doesn't come? She bluntly told you off. Let go Philip. You'll find someone better than her."
"I don't want anyone else. I only want her." He cried.
Enatel sat beside him and held his shoulders.
"I understand you bro but please, come with me for a few days. Just for a few days. I can't leave you here like this."
"Enatel ......"
"I'll help you pack a few things. We'll go to Atlanta and spend some days there. Go and freshen up."
She smiled. She had succeeded in getting an appointment fixed for Monday. She would give him hot coffee in the office and hot pap for dinner, come Monday.
She was about relaxing on her bed when a text came to her phone.
"Be fresh for me tonight. I'll love it in your room, my room and the sitting room upstairs. Stay sexy."
She smiled. This was it.
She went to her wardrobe and fished for her matching red lingerie. Micheal would get it hot tonight.
Claire woke up suddenly. Something was ringing and the sound was so loud. On a search, she found out it was the alarm she had set for seven. It was time to take her drugs.
She checked her table and realised she had not brought water. She got up and silently prayed that no one was home.
She picked her glass jug and quietly opened the lock to her door.
He had sent her a text to come to the sitting room upstairs. He was waiting for the first round of the night.
She had met him there. He had already showered and was only on his boxer short.
She had done a strip dance for him which got him all fired up.
Now, she was riding him, their moans and grunts filling the entire floor.
Kelvin had heard the noise too. He knew without being told that it was Micheal. How could he bring in another woman to his home? It was better to be left as an office affair, but his matrimonial home, it was a no no.
As she came closer, the noise increased. The slapping of bodies together, the moans, the grunts. Tears fell from her eyes and she turned to leave but she remembered, it was in her hands to reunite with her husband, to bring peace to her home. She wiped her tears and continued. She would see to the end of this.
He saw a figure going to the same place the noise was coming from. Was that Claire? Was she home? How come they didn't inform him? He had to stop her. She shouldn't see what her husband has become so she won't go back to the hospital. He ran after her but she was already there, watching her sister riding her husband.
He looked at her and their eyes met. He shook his head but she smiled, then, slowly, she said the unexpected, startling the two dogs;
"You both should learn to use a room please. And Amara, let me not wake up tomorrow morning to find you in this house.
*EPISODE34*
He had not expected her to react that way. Why wasn't she screaming or shouting or tearing at the two dogs. She had just walked past, got water from the filter and went back to her room. He stood there, not knowing who to talk to.
How can Amara be sharing her sister's husband? This was so unfair. He looked at Micheal who had pushed Amara away when he heard his wife's voice. He was a picture of a thief caught in the act.
Amara herself was already crying.
"Bravo you two. What a nice show you both put up here." He said, walking into the sitting room.
They both looked up at him, Amara trying to cover her bosoms.
"Why? I would also love to have a view of those things you've got up there. Why cover them since you're so shameless?"
Micheal stood up and walked away, not able to contain the embarrassment.
"I understand if it were me, I understand because I'm not your sister's husband but why would you do this? Why go to micheal? How could you be sowicked and selfish? To someone who's like your mother? Have you forgotten so soon? Have you forgotten how she suffered for the both of you? And when her hard work paid off, you turned to the monitoring demon who would destroy years of hard work. It's not fair Amara."
She went on her knees immediately, this wasn't how she planned it. She wasn't supposed to be caught just yet.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. Please help me talk to my sister. I love her so much and can't......"
"That's stale. Amara, you'll go to your sister yourself. You're lucky that she gave you till tomorrow morning. If I was in her shoes, you'll leave here without a dime." He said and walked out.
Micheal rubbed his forehead. What was all this? Why and how did she come home? Maybe her lover had dumped her and she decided to come home to spoil his reggae with her blues. He will talk to her. Amara won't be going anywhere. He made his way to the bathroom, thinking it through. Yes. She won't go anywhere.
She took the last of the bitter pills and drank from the glass. She was surprised that the tears has not started falling. She was a strong woman and not even what she saw tonight would break her. She had been betrayed by the two people she loved most in this world. But, she would come through. She ditched Phil so she can be able to come home to her family, little did she know that her home was now a chalet.
She stood up to drop the glass and a tap came on her door.
She was still dressed the way she had come from the hospital.
"Come in." She said with a sigh.
Kelvin opened the door and came in, leaving the door open.
She gave him a smile and they hugged each other.
"How're you Claire? I'm glad you're home."
"Thank Kelvin. How're you?"
He smiled and pulled out her reading chair, making himself comfortable. She dropped the glass and went back to the bed where she sat down.
"I'm fine pretty face. When were you discharged?"
"This morning but Phil brought me home during lunch hour."
"Were you certified healthy enough?"
"I'm fine but a nurse will be coming here daily to attend to me. I missed my house, this room especially since I've not spent much time in it. I had to plead for my discharge."
"You shouldn't have. The hospital is the best place where you can receive treatments till you're fully recovered."
"Kelvin dear, don't bother. I've got Amara, uhm, I mean, I've got Gertrude, Ebere and Chika. My husband is also here to take care of me, then you. The house is the best for me. And I don't regret coming home."
He nodded and took her hand in his. A look at the door told him Micheal was there. He remembered that first call that brought him to Lagos. Micheal had said she had changed. He knew his Claire can't change. She was different and he respected that difference.
"You're a strong woman pretty face and I'll keep praying for a woman like you. You didn't change and please, don't change. Listen, you have to learn to do the things that makes you happy, stop making sacrifices for people who don't care about your happiness. You've got a right to be happy. Don't think about what people will say or what society would do. Your happiness should matter and come first."
He wiped the single tear that came out from her eyes.
"Be happy. Be strong and know that you've got my support at any time okay?"
She nodded and went into his arms, letting it all out. He allowed her to cry, her tears, wetting his shirt and giving him more reasons to cause Sarah more pains. She was the architect of all these and she won't go scot free, not yet.
Guilt ran through him. She still respected him still despite his infidelity.
He had misjudged her. He looked into the room and she was in his arms. Why wasn't he the one consoling his wife? He should be the one holding her.
He stretched his arm and knocked at the open door.
They looked up at him and he saw her face. She ni longer had her glow. She now looked darker. How didn't he notice all these earlier.
"Claire, I'll retire for the night okay? See you in the morning and please, don't stress much." Kelvin said, running his hand on her hair.
She nodded and he quietly left the room without looking back.
He walked into the room, locking the door. Memories of the last time they were in this room together came to him and he blinked severally. He had beaten her without hearing a word or resistance from her. He had left her here to die. He had judged her without listening to her.
He walked to her while she maintained her stand.
"Baby. I'm sorry. I've failed you. I've failed our marriage. I've......"
"I wasn't complaining when it was your secretary. Why involve my sister?"
He opened his mouth, shock and bitterness written all over his face.
"Yea, I knew. The day I had called and you said you were in a meeting, I was at your office. The card and bouquet, the night you slept out, Micheal I knew. What was your reason? Because I was getting fat? How was I supposed to know that I was pregnant? I'm an orphan Micheal and nobody taught me all these things. I tried, heaven knows that I tried to make you happy despite the sickness and all that but no, you chose to go to your secretary. Now, you've added my sister to your list. You're a b@stard Micheal. You disgust me. Get out of here before I leave you in same condition you left me in this room some days ago."
He saw hatred in her eyes but he wasn't going to give up yet.
"But I thought you and Phil......"
He couldn't finish before a heavy slap landed on his face.
He held his face and for three seconds, he couldn't see anything.
"How dare you harbour such thoughts? How dare you think I'll ever stoop to your level?"
To his surprise, she began to remove her clothings. Her gown first, then her bra. Her breasts stood proudly, staring at him and helping to rub his sins in his face.
She removed her pants and that was when he saw it. How could he forget that his wife just had a miscarriage?
She brought the pant that caged the pad to his face. The blood and clots in it pierced heavy nails in his heart. This was his baby, his first issue. He had wasted it.
"How can I be a layabout when I'm still carrying the pains and punishment your carelessness caused me? I'm not like you Micheal and I'll never be like you. Now, you've overstayed your welcome here. Get out."
Kelvin moved out of the door and headed to his room. He had heard everything and he was happy it turned out that way.
She was a virtuous woman and he thanked God for her life.
Now, he does not need to spend the rest of the week with the bleached face.
It was time to act so that this couple would have their freedom at last.
He would go to Micheal's office first thing in the morning and bring out the camera he had hidden there.
Sarah is surely going down.
*EPISODE*35
His number has been off since the previous day. She was worried. What if something has happened to him? She was about to call again when the door opened and in came her knight in shining armour. It was 5;47am.
She rushed to his side and held him.
"What happened? I was worried sick. I've not been able to close my eyes. Why was your number switched off? You should have called or dropped a message."
He pulled her into his arms.
"I'm sorry love. Something came up."
She looked at him and walked to the bed. She undressed and without a word, went into the bathroom.
He smiled. He was just coming from Micheal's office. The camera had caught them clearly. She was indeed, a loose woman. He also had the recordings from their first sex. He had sensored his face while hers were open for the world to see. He would first upload the videos on nairaland, then Facebook using a new account where he would tag her. The videos will also be on naijaexposed.com. She won't know what hit her.
Her phone beeped and he reached for it. It was a text message from mtn asking her to subscribe for sugar boy's "kilamity". He deleted it and the next message he saw was from first bank plc. Out of curiosity, he opened it and it was a credit alert.
Last transaction was from Micheal Chibugo Njama. A million naira. Bank account balance; #1,860,000.
He knew just what to do.
He dropped the phone just as the door opened. She was wrapped in a bathrobe. She was wearing a frown. He stood up and went to her.
"Baby come on. I'm sorry. You don't even wanna ask me what happened."
"Kelvin please. I'm not a fool. You went to another woman, leaving me here all h•rny and messed up. Now you show up and tell me that something came up? That's stale." She barked, going to the dressing table to wipe her face.
"Baby eh, how can you think of that? How can you even say that? Despite the fact that I love you so much and I just bought your engagement ring yesterday, yet you stand there to accuse me of infidelity."
She turned to him and she felt guilty for doubting him. He had sat down on the bed and held his face in his hands.
"Honey I'm so sorry. I'm angry. I've got the right to be angry. I....."
"You should learn to trust me. I've been running around since yesterday. My dad is sick and dying and I'm here."
"What? Daddy is sick?"
"He was involved in an accident and the doctors want money to amputate his leg because he's diabetic. My mobile app has been misbehaving and I had to stoop low to ask micheal for money and he refused."
"Why? He can transfer the money to the doctor's account and......"
"He refused. That he has a girlfriend he wants to buy a car for today. Tell me, my daddy's life and that car, which is more important?"
She opened her eyes wide in shock. Micheal wants to buy her a car. Oh God of host. She knew that after yesterday, he was willing to do anything for her.
He looked at her. He had caught her just where he wanted her to be. He had to press further.
"I don't know what I'm going to do. First city monument bank is such a failure. I have billions yet I can't withdraw. Maybe I'll just sell off your ring baby, then go home to take care of my dad."
She rolled her eyes, BILLIONS!!!!!
"No. No you won't sell my ring. I've got some money in my account. You can send it to the doctor. Daddy's health is more important. How much is needed?"
"1.7. Do you have up to that? I'll go to the bank this afternoon and double the payment for you."
She smiled. This was good business
"You don't have to do that but if you insist."
She took her phone and handed it to him.
"I'll tell you my details. I just want daddy to be alright so he doesn't miss our wedding."
"Thank you baby. Let me call my doctor and hey, you ain't going to work today. Both of us will be here together till lunch break when I'll go to the bank."
He kitty welcomed the idea with a tingle and she moaned softly. She'll call in sick. Today can't get any better; a new car, 3.4million and an engagement ring.
He smiled and turned his phone on. He had just one person to call, his personal secretary.
She came downstairs, dressed in a white bum short and black tube. She went straight to the dinning where breakfast of white rice and chicken stew was waiting.
"Gertrude!" She called out after she had settled down
The ever humble young woman ran to her side.
"Yes madam?"
"You didn't call the others?"
"I did madam. Kelvin sir left very early. But your sister and husband didn't answer."
"Okay. Do me a favour, go to Amara's room and tell her that she has till I'm done with breakfast to get out of my house."
"Alright madam. Please, there's something I want to tell you. Don't be offended."
"Are you sick? Do you want to be grantes leave?"
"None of the above madam."
"Then wait till evening okay. Please. I've got family issues I want to resolve first."
Gertrude nodded and left for the errand she was sent.
"Come on dude, you're wasting time." Enatel said to Phil.
They were leaving for his(Enatel) house. They would start their journey from there.
Phil came out, carrying a box.
"You still wanna change your mind?" Enatel asked
"Not at all. She didn't call."
"Exactly what I'm saying. Did you ever think she'll leave her marriage for you? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy you finally began to accept women and you even fell in love but she's the wrong person Phil. You'll find someone better."
"I don't need anyone else. If it's not Claire, then it's nobody."
Enatel patted him at the back and with a nod, they left the house.
He had given the butler orders. If any woman comes looking for him, he should give him a call immediately.
He was about descending the stairs when he heard her talking to the house girl.
He had ruined the relationship between the two sisters.
God will never forgive him, even his late parents will be turning in their graves right now.
Did Gertrude just say she has something to tell him? He was ruined for life.
Where the fu©k is Kelvin? They were beefing, fine but he shouldn't abandon him like this. He turned, heading towards Kelvin's room. He needs help because he knew he had erred big time.
He made it to the room but nobody was there. He came out only to see Amara struggling with her big box.
"Amy wait. I want to seek Kelvin's help. You can't just go like that. We need to apologise to your sister. You two can't just end up like this."
"Me, apologise? Is it my fault that she couldn't keep her husband? I'm leaving. She can eat her house and her money but you, we ain't done. I'll text you the address of where I'll be staying."
