Scores of members of traders at the popular Ile epo commodity market in Agbado Oke-Odo area of Alimosho government today staged a heavy protest against what they termed as “oppression” by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and illegal detention of members
The protesters who carried various placards with various inscriptions such as, “Save us from oppression of NURTW”, ” "free Baba olorounke Age 82 from detention"and many others, they protested through ile epo after abule egba storming the roads and expressing their displeasure
Speaking to an eyewitness they said
‘We are using this protest to express our grievances against the oppression of the NURTW,demolition of our market and at the same time fight for our right.’
We hereby urge the Lagos state government to take immediate action in avoidance of previous clashes which has tagged oke-odo market clash a deadly one
